Embraced and greeted over 150 new students each semester through introductions and 3
orientation sessions.
Gauged classroom diversity through correlating 80+ introduction surveys each semester and
adjusted activities to meet and be sensitive to student needs, such as explaining Christian
symbolism in Lord of the Flies to Muslim students and opening dialogue about religious
differences.
Analyze data
Analyzed 300+ test results at the beginning of each academic year to appropriately place over
150 students into 3 different classes.
Administered and analyzed 3 TOEFL practice tests every 8 weeks in class and intensified
instruction in the weakest skills, such as generating stations activities to focus on speaking
practice and pronunciation utilizing tongue twisters.
Mapped 20-student gradebook and test results over a 16-week period and changed category
weighting in homework and test categories the following semester to neutralize an adverse
effect of participating in a remedial English class.
Structured classroom flow to make daily classroom duties, such as attendance, daily journals,
turning in homework, and getting into groups, 10%+ more efficient, allowing for more student
discussion and instruction.
Implemented 3-4 student roles in groups and stations activities to encourage student ownership
of learning, which increased student participation by 10%+ and improved learning and retention
by 15%+.
