Procedures
1. To begin class, have each student say at least two
sentences in front of the class about what they did since
last time the class met together.
2. The students will be in their desks. Tell the students to
all stand up because they are going to play a game. The
teacher will say a word in Spanish and the student will
respond in English. If they respond incorrectly, have
them sit down. Keep playing until until there is a winner
and give them a small prize.
3. Hand out a sheet of the English vocabulary words for
the chapter to the students with the Spanish translation
scrambled around. Tell them to match the words
together This will be done on their own.
4. After about 5 minutes, go over the words to make sure
the students have the correct words written down. As
you go over the words, use the projector to display
pictures of each word for the class to see.
5. As a class, have the students recite the words in English
after you say the word. This is so they understand how
to say the words. Also, have the teacher say the words
again in Spanish and have the students recite the
English word again.
6. Give assessment.
Assessment
At the end of class, have the students get into groups of
3-5 and they will pick 5 of the vocab words and write a
short paragraph in English using the words. They will
recite their paragraph to the class.
