Scoring/Grading Plans

FOR FORMAL SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENTS:
1. Who will score the assessment?
a. The assessment will be scored by the teacher
2. Describe the info (data) that will be collected.
a. Data will be collect from each student on which problems they got correct and incorrect
3. What will the teacher do with the data? How will it be analyzed?
a. The data will be entered into a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet will include each students name
and a box for each question. Questions that have more than one part will be indicated by an a
for the first part and b for the second part. This will allow me to determine if students had
more difficulty with simplifying or explaining the ratio. The spreadsheet will allow me to see
how individual students did, how students did in comparison to other students, and how the
class scored as a whole. The spreadsheet provides a way to make observations on things such
as the areas where students did well and the areas where they may need additional practice or
reteaching.
i. What will be the proficiency levels?
1. Students must score 80% per be considered proficient
ii. Will it be used for grading? If so, how?
1. This assessment serves as the summative assessment for the section on ratios.
A grade for this assessment will be entered into the grade book.

5. Describe intentional, possible interventions for low scoring students and enrichments for high scoring
students, if any.
a. Low scoring students
i. Additional instructional videos and practice problems on Khan Academy
ii. Review in individual areas of need such as greatest common factors, simplifying, or
explaining ratios
iii. Scaffold independent work
b. High scoring students
i. Incorporate higher order thinking to challenge students to apply their knowledge to
new situations
ii. Individualized independent practice
6. Describe any plans for how students may track their scores.
a. Students meet with the teacher weekly to discuss their scores and overall grade. They are
recorded in their planner.
7. Describe plans for how the outcomes will be communicatedwith whom, next steps, etc.
a. In addition to students parents also have access to their students planner. Upcoming
assessments as well as homework assignments are recorded daily in the planner. Parents are
informed of the planners, the information that they contain, and the weekly grade check.
Parents are asked to initial the planner weekly.

b. All recorded grades are also entered into power school. Parents have online access to this
information and can see all assignments and their corresponding grade.
c. Students will receive written feedback on their assessments. They will have an opportunity to
improve their grade by demonstrating their learning. To qualify to retake a test they must
complete the test retake requirements. One of these requirements is meeting with the
teacher to discuss the assessment, locate areas for improvement, and reteach as needed.
