Conflict
In the book Seedfolks, all of the characters deal with internal conflicts.
To use an example, Kim deals with an internal conflict. She has a conflict
about her father. He died before she got to know him, but her mother and
sisters remember him. Kim has an internal conflict about trying to make her
dad recognize her.
Another example of internal conflict is Ana. Ana first thinks that Kim is doing
something bad, she she goes to dig up whatever it is that she thought Kim
hid in the vacant lot. Then, Ana is conflicted and feels badly for digging up
Kims plants. Ana then decides to try to help Kim by checking on the plants
and making sure they are watered when they need to be.
Another example of a character with an internal conflict is Curtis. Curtis
used to spend his time going after lots of women, but now he has changed
his ways. His conflict is centered around trying to get Lateesha to notice him
and appreciate him.
