The duties of a neonatal nurse has many different
levels. Level I consists of caring for healthy
newborns. Level I nurseries are now uncommon in
the United States. Level II provides intermediate or
special care for premature or ill newborns. Level
III, the Neonatal intensive-care unit (NICU), treats
newborns who cannot be treated in the other
levels and are in need of high technology to
survive, such as breathing and feeding tubes. Level
IV includes all the skills of the level III but involves
the extensive care the most critically and complex
newborns.

The skills that I have is that my mom works at a
hospital and I go to work with her sometimes and
shadow other neonatal nurses. The hospital
required I need to take to became a neonatal
nurse is math, biology, and chemistry. I already
took all of those classes passed each one with
nothing lower than a C.

My outlook on neonatal nursing is it is a good
career. The good thing is Ill be making money
and having fun at the same time. Plus they make
over $20 an hour just playing with a baby.
