Foreword
Appendices B and C of this standard are informative appendices, whereas the others are mandatory
appendices.
This standard, GB 150 Pressure vessels, is composed of 4 parts.
Part 1: General requirements
Part 2: Materials
Part 3: Design
Part 4: Fabrication, Inspection, and acceptance
This part is the 2
nd
part of GB 150, Part 2: Materials. This part is formulated according to the rules
subscribed in GB/T 1.12009 Directives for standardization.
This part supersedes Chapter 4, Appendix A, Appendix F, and Appendix H of GB 1501998.
This part is revised according to technical development since the implementation of GB 1501998,
and the relevant provisions in TSG R0004-2009 Supervision Regulation on Safety Technology for
Stationary. Comparing to GB 1501998, changes are summarized as followings:
Steel standards referenced in Chapter 2 have been updated. Three standards, NB/T 47002.2
NB/T 47002.3, and NB/T 47002.4, are added for Nickel-Steel, Titanium-Steel, and Copper-Steel clad
plates. GB/T 21833 is added for austenitic-ferritic (duplex) stainless steel seamless tubes and pipes. GB/T
24593 is added. For welded tubes, GB/T 24593 is added for welded austenitic stainless steel for boiler
and heat-exchanger, and GB/T 21832 is added for austenitic-ferritic (duplex) stainless steel. GB/T 4226 is
added for cold finished stainless steel bars;
In the General Requirement of Chapter 3, the minimum impact test values for carbon steel and
low alloy steel (including plates, tube and pipes, and forgings) are raised according to the provision of
TSGR0004;
The minimum allowable stress values are redetermined according to the safety factor
prescribed in the TSG R0004;
Seven low alloy steel plate designates, 12Cr1MoVR, 12Cr2Mo1VR, 12MnNiVR, 15MnNiNbDR,
07MnNiMoDR, 08Ni3DR, and 06Ni9DR, as well as six high alloy steel plate designates, S11972, S30409,
S31008, S39042, S22253, and S22053, are added to Chapter 4.
In Chapter 4, the requirement of ultrasonic examination is increased for carbon steel and low
alloy steel. The lower limit of operating temperatures are particularized defined;
Two low alloy designates, 09MnNiD and 08Cr2AlMo, two austenitic high alloy designates,
1Cr19Ni9 and 0Cr25Ni20, and four austenitic-ferritic high alloy designates, S21953, S22253, S22053, and
S25073, for seamless steel tubes and pipes are added to Chapter 5. Also, five austenitic designates,
S30408, 30403, S31608, S31603, and S32168, and 3 austenitic-ferritic designates, S21953, S22253, and
S22053, for welded steel tubes and pipes are added to Chapter 5.
GB 150.2201

3
In Chapter 5, nozzles processed by steel bars are added, with relevant provisions.
In Chapter 6, 4 low alloy steel forging designates, 20MnNiMo, 12Cr2Mo1V, 12Cr3Mo1V, and
08Ni3D, 4 austeinitic steel forging designates, S30409, S31008, S31703, and S39042, and 2
austeinitic-ferritic steel forging designates, S22253 and S22053, are added.
In Chaper 7, for bolt(including stud) steel bars, the minimum impact test temperatures are
changed for crogenic bolt designates 35CrMoA and 40CrNiMoA, and the impact energy acceptance
values are raised for 30CrMoA, 35CrMoA, and 40CrNiMoA bolts. S31008, the high alloy bolt designate for
elevated temperature, and strain hardened S30408, the high alloy bolt designate for cryogenic
temperature are added.
In Appendix A, specifications for 4 low alloy steel plate, 12Cr2Mo1VR, 15MnNiNbDR, 08Ni3DR,
and 06Ni9DR, and specifications for 2 low alloy steel tubes and pipes, 09MnNiD and 08Cr2AlMo, are
added;
Appendix B lists relevant property data of new steel designates for reference;
Appendix C lists UNS numbers and steel designates of high-alloy steels in table;
Appendix D lists the provisions of steel Q235 series
