Disability Awareness Project

Purpose: Students will create a Google Presentation that examines the disability that a character in their
novel experiences. The presentation must convey the disability through the selection, organization, and
analysis of relevant content from credible sources.

Due Dates: Research was due October 21
st
. PowerPoint Presentation due October 27
th
.

Project Requirements:
Presentation must be completed in Google Presentations. The following slides are the minimum
requirement.

o Title SlideTitle, Name, Date, Text Feature

o Slide #1Lead: Grab the readers attention and set the purpose.

o Slide #2What is the Disability?- basic information, definition
o Slide #3- How does the author develop this disability in your character? -What is the
characters name? Background on their disability
o Slide #4- What are the challenges with this disability?


o Slide #5 What challenges does your character experience?
o Slide #6 Choice question #1- You should be answering the first question that you selected
to research
o Slide #7- How does slide 6 occur/ show in your story with your character ?
o Slide #8- Choice Question #2- You are answering the 2
nd
question you picked
o Slide #9- How does slide 8 show up in your story?
Slide #10 #Works Cited: Lists all sources used to gather information on the topic.
Formatted in MLA (easybib.com- we will go over this on Thursday in class)

You must include at least 4 text features (a mix of headings, images, links, maps, videos, etc).
