Brief Description of the Activity:
Students will go to the website to practice their mental multiplication. This
website is http://www.mathplayground.com/puzzle_pics_multiplication.html. Majority
of the questions are 1 digit by 1 digit with exception of 1 digit by 10 or 11. Students slide
their answer puzzle piece to the right spot to complete a puzzle. As students finish each
puzzle they may move to the next one. Students who feel more comfortable with
multiplication may change websites to a car racing game where they have to answer
questions to move their car along, this game also incorporates 1 digit by 12. This website
is http://www.multiplication.com/games/play/grand-prix.

Rational For Computer Integration:
The computer has been integrated into this activity to allow for students to
practice their multiplication in a fun way. The puzzle website allows for students to
compute the equations on their own time while the car racing website has them racing
against other people on the Internet. Both of these programs shows the correct answer to
each equation right away, and the puzzle website goes back and asks them the same
question again. This allows for immediate feedback and self correction when practicing
multiplication.

Search Strategies:
Initially I typed in math games into Google search. This produced a variety of
results including games to buy or hard copies of games. I refined my search to free
online math games which resulted in me finding the puzzle game. To compliment this
game I searched on Google again for multiplication games and the car racing website
was the first result.
