Capital & Flag
The capital of Brazil is Braslia.
Primary language and Religion
Portuguese is Brazils official language.
Brazil is made up of many religions but the
primary religion is Catholicism.
Christ the Redeemer
Christ the Redeemer is the largest art deco
statue in the world. It was finalized in 1931
standing at 98 feet tall. The statue is of Jesus
Christ with his arms outstretched symbolizing
peace.
Amazon River
The Amazon river is
the second largest
river in the world
next to the Nile river.
There are over 10
million living species,
and has over 3,000
recognized species of
fish with more to be
discovered.

Stereotypes
One Stereotype is that all Brazilian girls
have a nice butt.
Another would be that youre
automatically considered a soccer fan.
Superstitions
1. To avoid bad luck, you must enter or leave
any place with your right foot first.
2. If you have unwanted or boring guests in
your home, place a broom upside-down
behind the front door to make them leave
3. To find something you have lost, promise
Saint Longinus that you will hop three times
for him once you find it.

Etiquette and Body Language
Men shake hands when greeting one another,
while maintaining steady eye contact.
Women generally kiss each other, starting
with the left and alternating cheeks.
Hugging and backslapping are common
greetings among Brazilian friends.
If a woman wishes to shake hands with a man,
she should extend her hand first.
Relationship Building
Most Brazilians marry young in their 20s.
It is not liked when couples live together and
are not married.
Men are the primary bread winners and
women care givers.

Communication Style in Decision
Making
Brazilians are more comfortable doing
business with companies and people the
know.
Brazilians take time when negotiation.
They use local lawyers.

Power Structures in Decision Making
It is best to make business appointments
within two-three weeks in advanced.
Decisions are made by the highest ranked
person.

Difference in body language
We show appreciation through hugging,
kissing or gifting.
Our rude sign language is the flipping of the
middle finger.
For good luck we dont really have a symbol its
just more a a phrase.


Differs in Communication style
In the United States it is rude to interrupt a
person in a business meeting.
Business meeting that are of importance are
never delayed.
Americans come into a business meeting
knowing there is going to be a little bending in
what he/she is looking for.

Differences in Power Structure
Expect to be interrupted while you are
speaking or making a presentation. This is
considered rude.

The most popular internet cites are
Facebook, Orkut, windows live, twitter,
vostu and more.
There are 79 million internet users.

All individuals in society
are not equal.
Brazil reflects a society
that believes hierarchy
should be respected.
