This clearly shows that at the time caundapacharya
the pitrumedhasutra did not form a part of
the corpus of the apastamba kalpasutra which in other words, means that there did not exicst in his time a pitrumedhasutra called the apastamba pitrumedha sutra.Had it been in existence, he would certainly have mentioned it as a part of the kalpasutra. Presumably the followers of the Apastamba sutra must have followed,from the beginning,the pitrumedhasutra of Bharadvajins, and,in course of time,they must have begun to regard that sutra as their own
