Persuasive Essay Reflection
1. Please provide a detailed summary describing the artifact and its purpose.
The persuasive essay was a five paragraph essay I had to write about a topic that I wanted to
persuade someone about. I had to use the three appeals to persuade the audience I was trying to
convince. I had to use the appeals: ethos, pathos, and logos. These three appeals persuade
someone using emotions, logic, and ethics. After I perfected my essay, I had to make a video
argument about my essays topic. This video was submitted onto the Peoples Court Raw
website. Anyone that has an account on that website can view and respond with their own video
rant (argument). By the end, there is a winning rant.

2. Identify and list the GLPO(s) that were satisfied in completing this artifact. In
addition, please explain how theses GLPO(s) were met by specifically referring to the
examples or evidence from the artifact.
In this essay, I communicated ideas and recognized perspective. I communicated ideas by trying
to persuade an audience. I used technology and media to communicate with diverse audiences.
I shared my ideas and wrote about a certain topic. I made a video using my main points from my
persuasive essay and posted it onto the Peoples Court Raw website. Another way that I
communicated ideas is by recognizing that cultural perspectives affects how people react to
different situations, events, issues, or phenomena like: Making same-sex marriages legal. Many
people in this country think differently bout same-sex marriages, and I came to understand that
throughout this artifact. I also wrote about what I believe is right and what should be done to a
certain law. I used my own personal perspective to try to persuade an audience. This helped me
build my unique perspective on same-sex marriages and that they should be legal.

3. What skills and concepts were learned in completing this artifact and how will they
affect your future?
When completing this artifact, I learned how to research valid information to use in my artifact. I
learned how to tell if a website, that had information I needed, was a reliable source. Another
skill I learned was how to prove a point using my own perspective. I learned that I have to use
my own perspective and own thoughts to able to prove a clear point throughout my essay. I also
learned how to persuade in a logical way. I used the three main appeals to persuade: pathos,
logos, and ethos. I learned that I could use pathos to persuade someone with emotion, ethos to
persuade someone with ethics, and logos to persuade someone with logic. This will help me in
the future because I know that one day I will need to persuade someone to get a job or get into a
good college. I could use the 3 main appeals have a better chance of persuading.

4. What might you do differently if you were able to recreate or revise the final product?
If I were to recreate the final product I would have used more statistical information. With more
statistical information, there would have been more evidence that I could have been able to use
to persuade. Something else I could have done is, used more examples of the three main
persuading appeals. Using more examples of pathos would have helped me persuade the reader
with emotions. This would have been easier to persuade since emotions is a big part of the
choices we make in life. I would have also given more main points into why I want to persuade
my audience. I would have also given a better counter-argument and responded to it better.
