Program Delivery Options Are Different
Multiple Subjects Emphasis- Candidates can be considered a
fully online student or be based at a campus
Integrated Credential Emphasis Candidates are not be
considered fully online they must be assigned a campus so they
can be supervised for student teaching
Course Sequencing is Different
Multiple Subjects Emphasis- Dependent on campus or online
schedule
Integrated Credential Emphasis- Subject matter and credential
course must be taken in an integrated sequence following a
specified plan

Program Completion
Candidates in the Integrated Teaching Emphasis must complete
all program requirements before applying for BA degree
(including TPAs, portfolio, exit interview, RICA). File for the
credential after the BA degree has posted

Change of Major NOT an option for those interested in the
BA Integrated Emphasis
Students must apply to the program and meet admission
requirements
Students who have started another BA should not apply to this
program
Candidates in the Multiple Subjects Teaching Emphasis or
other BA programs should not apply to the integrated
emphasis after being admitted to another BA program

More flexibility (than integrated emphasis) in course
sequencing
Can be a fully online student
Once candidate completes the credential program at the
graduate level the units will make them eligible for higher
starting salaries

Integrated and concurrent coursework of subject matter and
related pedagogy
Candidates pay undergraduate tuition rates for the
credential courses leading to lower total program costs than
graduate program
Candidates can complete the program in less time than if
they do the undergraduate and graduate programs
separately because they can take more courses per term

New funding formula, signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown in July
