Romans 1:18-32

1. How does Romans 1:18 relate to 1:16-17? How is the “revelation” of


“God’s wrath” (1:18) connected with the “revelation” of “the
righteousness of God” (1:17)? Offer an explanation that shows how
1:18-32 is connected with the thesis statement in 1:16-17.

2. How is “God’s wrath” being revealed against humanity's


unrighteousness? In what ways does Paul specifically indicate that
“God’s wrath” is being revealed? Take note of the phrase “God gave
them over to” which occurs three times (Romans 1:24, 26, 28). How
does this phrase help to understand what Paul means when he speaks
of “God’s wrath” being revealed against humanity’s unrighteousness?

3. According to Romans 1:24-25, what is the primary sin with which Paul
charges humanity? What relationship does homosexuality have with
this primary sin? What relationship do all the other sins cataloged
have with this primary sin?

4. What does Romans 1:26-32 have to say to our culture today? How
should we apply this passage of Scripture to our society today? Try
to be specific with your applications or uses for today’s society.
