Profile
I am currently studying computer science at Birmingham City University. As the years have gone by,
my ambition to work with computers has only grown stronger and the advancements in computer
technology still never fails to amaze me. I firmly believe that the study of computer science will
provide me with the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and understanding of computers and
this is something that stimulates and captivates me. I realise that the world of computers is
constantly changing and requires someone who can adapt to change. I believe I can do this while
also acquiring new skills during the process.

Key skills
Communication
I would say I have good communication skills as I can communicate by either having a one to one
discussion or communicate with multiple people . This is made evident by working in a shop having
to serve costumers which requires good verbal communication.
Teamwork
I believe that if I need to be a leader in a team or play a major role I rise to the challenge and I give it
my all, as I would not want my team to be held back because of me. I also pay attention to what
other people might have to say and take what they have to say into consideration.

Technical
A range of technical skills was developed during my first year of my computer science degree in
programming languages such as python and C#. As I had to use python to make programs carry out
specific actions and also using C# to create a game.
Work Experience:
Signet IT Department
2012-2012
I completed a work placement within the IT department at Signet, and this unleashed a greater
desire to work with computers. I attended meetings, created flow charts, decision trees and helped
people in other departments with computer related problems and provided technical solutions. I
learnt that a job in computers is not just looking at a monitor and keyboard all day there is much
more to it. I realised that choosing Business A level was a wise decision as I could relate to a lot of
the work going on in the department and observed that good managerial skills are needed to go far
in your occupation. During my time at Signet I was able to take away with me was that managing my
time was vital. Certain tasks I was given had deadlines and they had to be met or there would have
been implications. I displayed my time management skills, independence and maturity in a
professional environment.
Employment:
Welford Stores
2013-Present
Working in a shop behind the cash register serving and communicating with customers to give a
good service. Also helping customers with any enquires they may have, along with stock control to
maintain customer needs.
Interests
In my spare time, I regularly organise and participate in tennis games. I also love less physically
demanding activities such as Sudoku and chess as they have allowed me to develop my
understanding of problem solving.
