Course Overview:
Implemented by Career and Technical Ed: 52.1701; State approved program 36 week course;
building the gap between in-class studies and the real world. Meets National Standards: Planning,
services for financial and investment planning, banking, insurance, and business financial
management.
This course is designed to give the student a comprehensive overview on the principles of insurance
and risk management. During this course, students will have the opportunity to take a certification
and designation exam, both recognized in the insurance profession as being proficient, knowledgeable
and skilled.
Components of Course:
Through on-line modules, hands-on activities, creative projects and assessments, along with guest
speakers, and case studies, students will learn the importance of risk management and insurance as it
relates to both commercial and personal lines. From auto to health, homeowners, business, workers
compensation, retirement and so much more, students will have the opportunity to delve into this
professional sector which is rich in opportunities in a variety of exciting careers.

INTRO to Property and Casualty Insurance 2

SEMESTER 2
AINS 21 Property and Liability Insurance 3

successfully completing the designation exam.

Necessary supplies (folder/notebook, paper and pencil are to be brought to class everyday).
QUALITY WORK IS EXPECTED FROM ALL STUDENTS. It is the student's responsibility
to be sure every assignment is to their best possible effort.

Absences/Make-up work:
It is imperative that students be present in class because they are responsible for all class work.
Missed assignments will be recorded on an absence form; it is the student's responsibility to ask
for clarification. In cases of absences, a student is allowed to make up missed assignments within
two days of returning to school, or as other arrangements is made.
