Thegrowthof the human population is oneofthegreatestissuetodaywhichaffects
not only our way of life, but also the environment as we attempt to accommodate the
growing population. Today, peoplewhoare45yearsorolderhaveexperiencedadoubling
of the population from 3 billion in 1960 to 6.5 billion in 2005. Although thegrowthrate is
slowing, the amount of people on this planet continueto growespeciallyin nationswhich
are less economically developed. This is due to the fact that many womenhave children
more thana region wherethepeoplearemoreeconomicallystable.These 9nationsalone
accountforhalftheglobalincrease.

The facts and statistics presented in this article were truly astonishing because it
faces an issue that is leading our environment to the brink of extinction. As the human
population continues to grow more and more resources are used, many of which are
irreplaceable. I agree with the articles solution to of the populations growth which is
providing education, health and technology. With education women will know what is
available, they will have a choice, it is proven that people who are more literate tend to
havefewerchildren. Providing healthresourcessuchasbirthcontrolwillalsohelp slow the
growth of the human population. Finally, technology will allow individuals to practice and
achievesocialandlegalunderstanding.
