Uses- page number, dates, titles, various accents on titles, logos, etc.
Purpose- A header and Footer is a printed text at the top and bottom of a page, used to display
document titles, page numbers and other various text or graphic depending on the type of document.
This is a simple way of adding details, identifiers, and organization to your documents.
Materials- Computer running Microsoft Office 2013, keyboard, mouse, monitor with 32 bit color.
Instructions-The following instructions will assist you in creating a Viewmaster document title as a
header and a page number in the bottom right corner as a footer for all pages.
Provided instructions are specific for Microsoft Office Word 2013, older versions may vary in steps.

Section 1: Header
1. Open a new Word document

6. A header will appear on the document with a pre applied text Document Title
7. Double click on the Document Title and type the desired title of your document
8. Once title is created double click back into the body of the page.
Section 2: Footer
1. Repeat steps 2-3 from the header section (previous section)
2. Click on the drop down menu of the Footer section
3. Scroll down towards bottom and select the last format, titled Whisp.
4. A footer will appear on the document with the page number and will continue on each page
automatically

Q- My Header and Footer does not appear on the first page
A- Check to see if your document is in print layout mode
Q- I changed the header and/or footer for a section, all the other sections headers and footers changed
as well?
A- When you change a section, Word automatically changes the same header or footer for all the
sections. To create a different header or footer for a section, you need to break the connection
between sections. This is done by clicking on the header and footer navigation section under the
HOME tab, click link to previous to break the connection between current and previous section.
Q- I need to set up different odd and even headers or footers for a template that has only one page of
text.
A- To set up different headers or footers for odd and even pages, insert a manual page break in the
one-page template, create the needed header or footer. Then delete the page break.
