Grammar Checklist
Leave time at the end of writing to identify and correct errors. You
will always find grammar or spelling mistakes. Correcting these
can improve your score.
Practice checking your writing, particularly look for these:
Articles used in the right way (eg a, an, the)
Uncountable nouns common errors are
informations, datas, pollutions, electricities, bad lucks

Common verb errors include present simple third


person eg she work in bank
Right tense for the context particularly careful with
perfect tenses
Punctuation (commas, apostrophes etc) in the right places

Complex Sentences

Complex structures are sentences with multiple bits of


information. A simple sentence usually has a single piece of
information.

In your writing there should be a balance of


simple and complex sentences.

Punctuation
Meaning: there are lots of windows so
we need to define which window we are
referring to specifically
Meaning: there is only one window so
no need to define which window
