Entry 1: Technology to Support Communication

Introduction
Comprehensive classroom technology plan is an important part of the classroom. By
ensuring that student receives the best education a safe and relaxing environment, and treating all
kids with respect and dignity. When incorporating technology such as email addresses, text
message, internet access, and a handheld game console in the classroom it helps the students
become successful.
Technology to Enhance Communication
Email
Using the email in the classroom to help communicate with parents is a tool to help
students. When parents and teachers communicate with one another, they are able to support
student learning together more effectively (Digital Promise, 2014). As a parent it is a great idea
to have the childs teacher email address. Most students that are shy and not wanting to talk have
a tendency of having good grades academically. Adults, as well as students, need to
communicate directly, express their feelings and listen to those of others (The Friends School,
2008).
Texting
Most parents and have a cell phone and this can help the teacher communicate with them
by texting. A teacher has just as much access as the parent have to a cell phone so that they can
keep up with the childs grades. Using the system, teachers are able to send quick
individualized status updates directly to parents cell phones as text messages (Bukhari, 2013)..
There are many kids in the global community that does not like to communicate with the teacher

so texting will be an easier way for some students to communicate. As a classroom teacher they
can participate in the global community by interacting with students and parents through texting.
Internet:
Teachers can communicate with parents by using the internet to send messages to parent and
students. The parent and the student will communicate with the teacher if there is a problem by
using the internet to try and fix the issues. Parents really want to hear about their childs
academic performance and behavioral expectations, and technology is enabling them to do so in
an easy and convenient manner (Digital Promise, 2014). In the global community, computers
are taking over the outside world.
Handheld game system
Parents may not have access to a home computer but the child may have a handheld game
system they can use to access the internet. When a student communicates with the teacher in the
classroom it helps the teacher to know the child better. Kids have ways of hooking up internet
access on a handheld gaming system. Handheld game consoles helps some students talk more.
Communication Internet Security and Safety
Communicating with students about the safety of the internet is very important. The
main way for students to stay safe on the Internet is to ask for the help of an adult (iSafe, 2010).
Teachers can also have a seminar class on internet safety. As well as being aware of the dangers
of cyberbullying for children at home, its also important that cyberbullying is covered by antibullying policies in schools and youth organizations (Rogers, 2010).
Concluding Paragraph
A teacher that uses the email found that this is an easy way to communicate with parents. Kids
that are withdrawn from their classmates may find texting more comfortable than speaking up in

class. A teacher that uses the email found that this is an easy way to communicate with parents.
