WHAT IS ISIS?
ISIS stands for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria
Their leader is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

They are a terrorist group that stems from an Al


Qaeda faction
Al Qaeda is responsible for many terrorists attacks like 9/11

ISIS goal is that they create a new, Islamic


government

ISIS SUCCESS
Many governments are scared to fight ISIS due to
disturbing videos that have been made public by
social media
Over 12,000 foreigners have gone to fight with ISIS
ISIS operate around locations that are mainly Shia
Muslim, or Sunni.
Therefore, the citizens are easy going to ISIS commands,
which boost ISIS control.

HOW DOES ISIS AFFECT THE U.S.


An American journalist, James Foley, was captured
and killed by ISIS in response to President Obamas
call for American airstrikes.
The United States continued hitting ISIS with airstrikes.

Minority groups are being threatened, killed, and


forced to move.
Many Christians have been affected

ISIS has threatened to kill anyone that joined a U.S.


led caliph
Including the United States

HOW IS AMERICA AFFECTED BY


ISIS?
The airstrikes that have angered ISIS and caused the
deaths of an American and British journalists have
been issued by the United States government.
American produced oil is being stolen and traded
by ISIS, in a black market type setting, giving them a
large income.

WHAT IS THE CONTROVERSY?


Should the United States continue to airstrike ISIS or
should they stop?
In addition, should the United States send more
troops into Iraq and Syria with the sole purpose of
defeating ISIS?

HOW ARE POLITICAL PARTIES


AFFECTED BY THE ISIS CONTROVERSY?
Obama has asked Congress for $5.6 billion and
asked that Congress approves this amount of
money before Republicans take over Congress.
Republicans feel ISIS is a very big threat to the
United States on U.S. soil, while Democrats are much
more laid back believing that ISIS is contained and
a smaller threat.

Americans over popular

websites, like twitter. This is
a tweet that was sent out
from an alleged terrorists to
the American people.

ISIS AND INTEREST GROUPS


ISIS is considered to be an interest group.
Their main focus is creating a new government that
has a main religion of Muslim.
In this process, ISIS will take down any country that
stands in their way.
Members of ISIS are violent and brutal.

Many Americans
believe that The United
States should send in
military act to stop ISIS
and the spread of their
beliefs.

THE FUTURE AND ISIS


The United States and The United Kingdom, along
with other countries, will never support ISIS or any of
their beliefs.
ISIS will begin to threaten many oil exporters, which
will anger most of the world.
Therefore, many countries will come together to force ISIS to
breakup and discontinue any of their plans.

CONCLUSION
With many militant
powers, ISIS will
eventually be
defeated. This defeat
will only come at a
high cost of many
military planned
missions. ISIS values
and morals are
wrong and corrupt
and need to be
stopped.
