World History is the study of the events, individuals, and factors that have
shaped mankind over the last 4 million years. Although impossible to cover
every detail in human history, this course will introduce the student to major
turning points and ideas that will help shed light on current events and
patterns. Independent study is highly encouraged on all topics of interest.
Grading
20% Daily Grades
Daily work will prepare you for the exam. This can come in the form of
vocabulary, reading guides, notes, graphic organizers, posters and many
other activities. The important thing to remember is to do your best each and
every day.
80% Exams
Exams are designed to test your mastery of the concepts and skills necessary
to be a successful student of history. Exams can be multiple-choice, essay,
matching, fill in the blank, short answer, or true/false. Make sure to review
the material before an exam so you are well prepared. Exams may be retaken
for a maximum grade of 70.

Supplies Needed
Bring a pencil or pen to class. Writing is required every day.

Electronic Policy
If the red sign is up, put it away. If phone is out, I pick it up and you can
pick it up from the office at the end of the day. If you refuse, you and
your phone will both go to the office. Offenses: 1 st -phone is returned.
2nd- $15 fee. 3rd - Parent Conference + $15 fee
