Clean Well-Lighted Place
In a clean well-lighted place we encounter three important characters a young waiter
whos impatient and wants to go home to see his wife, next is the old waiter patient and tolerant
man whos nobody is waiting at home, and an old man who has all the time in the world to enjoy
his drinks. The theme of the story is aging as a man ages his desires and priorities may change
and he may grow more tolerant as well.
The story is about the stages of life, by examining the lives of the characters we come to
conclude all three are very different for instance the young waiter is very impatient and really
wants to go home and see his wife. The older waiter whos not really old Ill say in his 30s
doesnt have a rush he rather stay late at night that go home. Finally we see the old man who
likes to enjoy drinks at the night casually at the caf. Aging we all come thru to it as we get older
our priorites tend to change, the story reveal to us that when a man gets older he doesnt really
have to rush no more his time and his decisions has gone over the years. We tend to see as other
folks sees it and now is about the patience that every human being experience
