The Plotter:
Book Corner Club Meeting Date:
Title of Reader:
You are The Plotter. The plot is the basic or main storyline in a novel. You have three jobs:
1 While you are reading, write down the key events in the story, e.g. the events that you think are
the most important. Also, decide which event marks the climax the moment of most tension in
the story. Then choose two of these important events and think of two questions to ask your club
mates, e.g. Do you think that the missing boot is important in The Hound of the Baskervilles?
2 Choose three adjectives to describe the plot, e.g. fast, slow, exciting, romantic etc. Note these down
and, at the meeting, find out if your Club members agree with you.
3 Look at the illustrations in the Reader and be prepared to explain what is happening in at least
three of them. Decide if the illustrations show important moments in the story.
