You are The Chair. You have four jobs:

 hile you are reading the Graded Reader, write down at least five questions to ask the others
in your Club. Ask about their opinions (e.g. I wouldnt have been so tolerant with that character.
What about you?), or about something you want to clarify (e.g. Did they really keep prisoners on
ships?). Ask if they like a character or if they have visited a similar place or had a similar experience.
Then give your Club members your opinions, and share your ideas and experiences.
2 Find something in the story to connect to your own experience of life, and share this information
or memory with your Club, e.g. I remember my first love was a bit like that characters. I fell in love
with a boy who was quite cruel and enjoyed making me look silly!

 ou lead the Club and make sure everyone has the chance to speak, or to ask questions if they
want. You speak first (see 4 below) then ask the Theme Secretary to speak and the rest of the Club
to respond to the Theme Secretary.

 ou record which Club members occupy each role at the meeting, so that next time everyone takes
a different role.
