Self-evaluation of my logo design:

Discuss your performance at each stage (A-D) of the process:
A. INVESTIGATE: Please rate your performance

I completed extensive research and investigation into logos and my chosen cause
I completed moderate research and investigation into logos and my chosen cause
I completed limited research and investigation into logos and my chosen cause

B. DESIGN: How successful would you describe your design in regards to the elements and
principles of design and the values of your chosen cause?
I really like my design because it has such a simplistic minimalistic design, and I feel like I conveyed the
Beyond Blue cause because it is very easy to see what it means, as it shows a broken heart, which is a
universal symbol of sadness.
C. PLAN: How well did you show the development of your design, including clear
annotations, in the initial drawing stages of your design and in your use of ICT?
Excellent

Very good

Adequate

Limited

No evidence

D. CREATE: How successful is your final logo for your T-shirt?

Talk about what you did well, whether you followed your plan, and what you could have done
better:
It took me more than one go
Which other students work do you most admire and why?
I dont know because I havent seen many other peoples work. I couldnt coin it as my
favourite, but of those I have seen, I really like bens logo for RSPCA, as he directly took his handdrawn artwork and digitally coloured it in, and I feel like this gives it a really nice and authentic
feel.

3It is good because it has a

consistent colour scheme,
only using a single shade of
dark blue, which contrasts
well against the white. It is in
the middle of the shirt which
gives it balance.

I attempted to make it all blue

and I obviously did this well, I
personally really like the
colour scheme/palette that I
have on the t-shirt. I spent a
large amount of time making
sure that the logo was nearperfectly centred.

2The Logo is very easy to see,

which quickly grabs peoples
attention, as people dont
want to read lots if they are,
say walking around in
shopping centre. It is quick to
read and easy to understand
which makes it easy for
people to take in all the
information on the t-shirt.

I deliberately deterred from

having large amounts of
writing on the shirt and I
thought that a broken heart is
the possible most obvious
symbol to represent sadness,
depression and most
obviously heartbreak.

3It is well communicated in

that you can easily tell what
cause it is for as you can very
easily read the writing on the
shirt as there is not much and
it is all big.

I deliberately wrote the words

Beyond Blue on the back and
the front so that people can
spot it from any angle.
