Honors 100 AH
1 November 2014

I interviewed Andi Gero, and I learned that she has a wide variety of interests. Her intended major is
bioengineering. After taking the Experiential Learning quiz in our Honors 100 section, she learned that
she is most suited for the categories of Service and Research. She enjoys playing water polo, swimming,
playing cello, watching movies, and reading books. She is interested in doing paramedic training after
college and wishes to eventually become a paramedic in the future. She would also like to study abroad,
preferably in Peru or South Africa. She is also interested in becoming an officer at a RSO on campus.
1. Honors Study Abroad Program in Peru
a. http://depts.washington.edu/uwhonors/international/peru/
b. I think Andi would really enjoy this program because it will give her the opportunity to
learn more about Peruvian culture which she said interested her. The courses included
with this program are: Peruvian Politics, Society, and Culture; Arts, Politics, and Protest
in Peru; Politics, Struggle and Hope in Latin America. These courses will allow her to
study, in depth, the culture of Peru by not only learning about it in class, but also from
being immersed in Peruvian culture during her stay in Peru.
2. American Red Cross at UW

b. I think Andi would enjoy participating in this club because she is interested in medicine
and volunteer work in this area.
3. Center for Cardiovascular Biology

b. Andi would also enjoy finding research work here because it is related to her major and
goes well with her results from the Experiential Learning Quiz.
