Classroom Management Plan

I. Statement of Purpose
As a class we will work together to achieve the 4 supports of physical education:
respect, participation, effort, and lifelong fitness. Everyone will respect each other, the
lesson, the equipment, and ourselves. We will participate in every activity and grow from
the experience. We will put forth full effort with each new challenge that is placed before
us regardless of our abilities. We will continually be active learners on how to
incorporate lifelong fitness into our daily lives.

II. Rules
1. You will be prepared every day for class.
2. You will be ready to learn and participate.
3. Leave all items not needed for class in the locker room and or main locker.
4. Respect others.
5. Follow all directions.

III. Procedures

locker will be assigned.
All students will dress in the locker room. Lock up all belongings when going to class.
All electrical devices (cell phones, I pads, and laptops) must be kept in the main locker
and are not allowed in the locker room.

Grading Policy
Grades will be determined based on the level of mastery that a student has shown for
each state goal. Grades will be recorded according to this rubric on a scale from 0 to 4:
4 Exceeds
3 Meets
2 Approaching

0 No Mastery: Student demonstrates no evidence of mastery of the state goal.
I Incomplete: Student has not completed the task in order to demonstrate evidence of
level of mastery.

necessary to engage in moderate to vigorous physical activity.
STATE GOAL 20: Achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness
based upon continual self-assessment.
STATE GOAL 21: Develop skills necessary to become a successful member of a team
by working with others during physical activity.
Redo/Retake/Make-Up Policy
The purpose of any assignment/task is for a student to demonstrate their level of
mastery of the state goals. If there is no evidence for a standard (an incomplete), then
that student is required to participate in relearning, retesting, or making up for missed
days.
All students also have the opportunity to retake or redo an assessment to demonstrate
a higher level of mastery at the teachers discretion. Participation in their opportunity will
be demanding; more-so that the original assessment, and is on an individualized basis.
In order to receive credit, the student will have to meet with the instructor and have a
plan of action in place to retake or redo an assessment.
Students are allowed one excused missed day of class per unit without having to do a
make-up. If more days are missed within a unit because of excused absences, the
following will apply in order to demonstrate evidence of the participation standard, all of

VI. Intervention Plan

The PBIS system in physical education, can be a great way to increase the awareness
of the rules and procedures by continually teaching the positive behaviors expected in
class. Installing practices and collecting data on the students will greatly benefit them by

being able to teach specifically to their needs. I would also be able to give students the
support they need to best help them becoming succeed. Discipline when needed will be
fair and consistent with criteria that needs to be met.
As a teacher my role with crisis procedures will be to supervise the students in my
charge. To continually take steps to ensure the safety of students, other teachers, and
staff through the management protocols. I will have to give accurate commands and do
appropriate actions to keep everyone involved safe and follow commands that are given
from the incident commander.
