Course Description:
This course is required for all Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
credentialed with Health-Quest. Students completing this course will be equipped with the
necessary skills to utilize Cerner PowerChart, the electronic medical record application. Students
will be provided with the necessary tools to successfully manage care including placing orders,
reviewing clinical results and documentation, dictating clinical notes, reconciling medications
and discharging for inpatients within our healthcare organization. This course must be
successfully completed in order to obtain access to Cerner PowerChart.
Resource Requirements:
All students taking this online course will be required to have basic computer skills including
navigating with the mouse and use of the keyboard. In addition, all students must have access to
Citrix, an active email address, have access to Microsoft Office and have a Flash Player installed
on personal computer. Students will also be given a link to the Health Quest wiki site for

Students are not required to purchase a textbook for this course. All materials necessary will be
provided by the instructor. Please review list above.
OnlineOffice Hours:
The instructor for this course will answer all emails within 24 hours and will be available
Monday-Friday 8:30a-5p, to schedule an appointment. Class times will be available from 7a-9a
or 5p-7p and you will be required to attend two sessions of remote instructor led training. Please
review class schedule and email instructor with the dates and times that you wish to attend.

Course Outline:
Day 1 and Day 2 will consist of 2 hour remote sessions. Students will then have the opportunity
to practice in a Cerner Train environment after participating in class. Day 3 is a face to face
training at a Health Quest site. Each remote session is recorded and a URL link will be provided
for review at any time.

Attendance Requirements:
Students are expected to be attend all 3 days of training and will need to be on time to the remote
sessions. There will be no excuses. The conference line will close if you do not join within 5
minutes of the start of class.
