a. Curious i. I have a pretty good grasp of who I am and what I want to make out of my life, yet Im always looking for new experiences to possibly open my eyes to ideas that may fundamentally change how I develop. In other words, Id like to say I have everythingmy classes, my major, my future careerfigured out, yet at the same time, I want to leave room to explore other options in the possibility that they may change me for the better. b. Uninhibited i. Expanding on what was said above, Im always looking for new, exciting experiences in the hope that I may enjoy it and learn something from it. These experiences can be anything from taking a strange sounding class, approaching a girl way out of my league, or jumping off of a really high cliff. Ive generally always perceived life to be lived this way; as my father has always said, You have to pack as much into your life as you can; do you know what happens at the end of it? You die. 2. Honors Courses I Would Like To Take a. HONORS 220 B: Public Policy Using A Benefit-Cost Analysis Approach (NW) i. This jumped out at me right away, as Im planning on majoring in economics andhopefullyworking at an investment bank one day. Being involved in finance, I find it fascinating how certain policies and laws can affect profitability. b. JSIS 200 AI: States and Capitalism: The Origins of the Modern Global System (I&S) i. Keeping with my interest in finance and economics, I also would at some point like to take this class. I think it would be incredibly interesting to discover why modern markets function the way they do. 3. Other Courses I Would Like To Take a. ASTR 101: Astronomy (NW) i. Im by no means into sciencein fact, Ive sworn to never pursue a science or study one due to how much Ive detested chemistry and physics in high school. Of course, I have stated how much I enjoy doing new, exciting things to learn from them, thus I think it would be really interesting to take a non-mathematical, purely conceptual astronomy course. Even though Im not interested in the sciences, Im certain that I would find the material interesting. b. PHIL 110: Introduction to Social and Political Philosophy (I&S) i. Ive always thought a philosophy course would be fascinating because I love the fact that a particular issue can be thought of in so many different ways. This particular one appealed to my due to the fact that it concerns social standards and politics.

4. People Id Like To Get To Know
a. My Resident Advisers i. I already know both of them (their names are Ray and Hannah) yet Id like to talk to them more in depth about navigating my first year in college. I usually talk to Hannah more because shes an economics major and usually has some insight into how I should approach the major as far as classes. I think theyre great resources and Id like to know more from both of them because I know their experiences have been unique. b. My FIG Leader i. My FIG leaders name is Jeremy (His actual name is Tianbihes from Korea), and hes a junior double majoring in economics and mathematics. He and I have similar goals as far as working in finance and being interested in economics and investment banking, so I think he would also be a really good resource if I actually took the time to get to know him a little better than as a FIG leader. 5. Resources I Will Use During My Time At UW a. The Career Center i. Internships and jobs can be found just through individual research, yet I think its an amazing opportunity to have an office that dedicates itself to finding internship and research opportunities for UW students. I will most likely be using this quite often. b. Office Hours i. Office hours dont seem like much of a resource, but as someone who actually goes to them, I can say that they are incredibly helpful as far as understanding a concept in the class or just getting to know your professor better. I typically visit my calculus professor and TA at Padelford when I get time, typically due to an unruly homework problem, but also because I enjoy getting the one-on-one feedback. 6. Methods For Achieving Balance This Quarter a. Wake up early i. By early, I mean 8:00-9:00 in the morning. It sounds painful waking up at this hour, yet I actually feel better and more energized when I wake up early as opposed to feeling lethargic and unproductive waking up at noon. b. Stay healthy i. Ive always embraced physical fitness as a means of staying sane and productive, especially during college. Now is the time where it is incredibly tempting to stress eat or play computer games all day, yet Ive always found that eating sensibly and exercising moderately does wonders for how productive I can be.
