Learning Activity #1
Introduction
Greeting them as they come into the gym
Run 5 laps, 5 sit-ups and 5 pushups as their regular warm-up activity
Sit in circle when they are done
Does anyone know remember which two drills we talked about last
class? (Dribbling and passing)
When we pass a ball to a partner we want to keep the ball controlled
so we do not accidently hit our partner in the face with the ball
There is no fighting, pushing or shoving allowed in the gym
In soccer we keep our hands to ourselves
If we listen very well for the first couple minutes, we are going to play
a soccer game for most of the class
The first thing we are going to do is stretch so that the whole class is
ready to play!
Body
Itsy Bitsy Spider Stretch
Stretching is very important before we play sports!
I will demonstrate this stretch once and then we will do it together as a
class
Demonstrate it
The Itsy Bitsy Spider climbed up the water spout, down came the rain
and washed the spider out, out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
so, the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again
Okay, grade ones I need everyone standing up and we are going to do
