Education for Special Needs


Special needs children need the most attention because they cannot care for themselves
said by (Lopez 1). Since most of the special needs children cannot feed or care to their own
needs they need a teacher or an attendant to do it for them. In todays society teachers should be
more involved with their special needs students because they need all the attention they can get
because they need it more than the average student (Lopez 2). In elementary school is the time
they need it the most because they do not know what they are doing at such a young age and
need a guide that will show them what is right and what is wrong. (Lopez 3).
Firstly, According to (Lubovsky 1) some students needs special treatment to care to what
they are diagnosis with. The teacher need to have special type of medicine that can help them
calm down or help them stay awake so they do not hurt themselves during nap time, if they are in
a lower leveled grade. Plus the teachers should have all the students health problems on file so if
something happens the teacher will know what to do if the special needs students has a reaction,
to something they ate or something they had to drink.
Secondly, when teaching he/she should do their personal best to make the student feel like they
did the best job in the world. He/she should give them special task to complete it cannot be be a

really hard tasks because he/ she should remember that it cannot be too hard because they can get
frustrated then they will not try anymore. So you must give a simple task that they can complete
without any stress, ones they complete it he/she will give them a reward of a sticker or food they
might want. That is what you need to consider when you are working with a special needs child
on what they can and cannot eat because some food if they eat they could have to go to the
hospital or even pass away.
Thirdly, (Lubovsky1) describes the psychological content of the special educational
needs of children with developmental disabilities in the conditions necessary for optimal
realization of actual and potential child capacities in the learning process. We discuss the cause
of the special needs that are specific patterns of impaired development. Among them, the most
important are a lower rate of information receiving and processing, its storage smaller volume
and the shortcomings of its verbal mediation. This goes with my subject because it is showing
how to take care of a special needs student.
