The unit study of plants can be broad. This is a great unit of study for Kindergarten because you can
incorporate all areas of learning, including art. This unit study will incorporate reading, literacy and math.
The students will first learn about consonant vowel consonant words through phonological awareness
and demonstrate an understanding of spoken words, syllables and sounds, During the Guided Reading,
the students will use their reading Superpowers. The students will write about their favorite stems during
the Writing Workshop. At the end of the unit, students will explore plants and measure and record data
regarding the lengths of parts of a plant.
