CHARLESTON, W.V. Senate President Jeff Kessler (D-Marshall) announced today that the
third meeting of the SCORE task force will meet next week in Mercer County. SCORE,
Southern Coalfields Organizing and Revitalizing the Economy, is an initiative aimed to give
southern West Virginia much-needed opportunities to diversify the economy and strengthen our
families and communities.
Senate President Kessler says he is looking forward to continuing the work of the SCORE task
force in order to gather as much information as possible before the start of the 2015 legislative
session
The goal of the task force is to enable the region to assess its current challenges, gather ideas
already underway addressing those challenges and then take this information and propose bipartisan legislation, says Kessler. We need to hear from the people of southern West
Virginia.
The forum is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
