Reflection

In the end I have learned much about this debate, however my initial opinion on the
debate has not changed much. This is partly because there truly should be more research done on
the effects of exposure to violent media to the human mind. I do feel I have better knowledge
which I can now use to better present my side of the debate. I hope that my audience understands
my viewpoint and why I choose the side I do, and can use this information to gain a better
perspective themselves. I think the best piece of advice I can give on the issue is to use your own
moral judgment on what you allow yourself and your children to be exposed to and not that of
the giant news corporations who are just trying to get higher ratings.
Now as far as the experience of the multi-genre project itself goes, honestly I think I
would have rather just a single research paper, probably because I am lazy at heart. After all the
research I did and having my annotated bibliography I dont think it would have been much more
work to squeeze out a few more pages of information. However, the project itself was a good
experience. I now have more experience in presenting information in different formats rather
than just in a formal essay.

If violence is an accepted subject of timeless art and literature, why question it in contemporary
modes of expression? - Joan E. Bertin
