We recommend that you use the same master password for each installation of a d
istributed scenario. Dependencies
Basic password policy: The master password must meet the following requirements:
It must be 8 to 14 characters long
It must contain at least one letter (a-z, A-Z)
It must contain at least one digit (0-9)
It must not contain \ (backslash) and " (double quote).
Additional restrictions depending on your operating system and database:
Windows: If a user already exists, you are prompted to confirm the password for
this user.
MaxDB: The master password must meet the following additional requirements:
It must be 8 to 9 characters long
It must not begin with a digit nor an underscore
It can contain the following characters: @, _, #, $, a-z, A-Z, 0-9
Oracle: The master password must meet the following additional requirements:
It must not begin with a digit nor an underscore
It can contain the following characters: _, #, $, a-z, A-Z, 0-9
Other restrictions:
ABAP system: The master password is applied to users SAP* and DDIC for SAP syste
m clients 000 and 001 only, but not to users SAP*, DDIC, and EARLYWATCH in SAP s
ystem client 066. Instead, SAPinst always assigns the following passwords to the
se users in client 066:
User SAP*: 06071992
User DDIC: 19920706
User EARLYWATCH: support
Depending on the installation option, additional restrictions may apply (for exa
mple, the master password must not contain the name of a Java user created durin
g the installation).
