Strawberries
in Growin
Bags
Grow Vegetables in any sunny
spot-your deck, patio, even
your Front steps. No need to till
or amend your soil anymore.

What
is a Growin Bag?

Growing bags are an ideal

way to vegetables on sunny
patios and balconies as well
as in the greenhouse.
Growing bags have enough
space to store up to 3
plants.
Growing bags were
originally introduced as an
alternative directly planting
into soil.
In order to be used more
efficiently throughout the
year

Steps to successfully
planting a Growin bag!
1. Lightly moisten a quality
potting soil
2. Fill pouch to within 2 inches of
the top
3. Press firmly to eliminate air
pockets
4. Lay bag on a flat surface and
fold top over while securing
the top with tape
5. Set strawberries through T-
slits
6. Trim the roots to 4 or 5 inches

Winterizing
Growing bag can be
overwintered in zones 8
through 9
In zones 5 through 7 put bag
into cold garage below 50
degrees F but above
freezing.
Water lightly every 4 to 5
weeks to keep soil damp
Move bag outdoors in early
spring

Aftercare

1. Hang growing bag in sunny

location
2. Unfold top to add potting soil
3. Water every few days to keep
soil damp
4. Use an ice pick to punch extra
holes for drainage
5. Remove all but 2 daughter
plants to replace originals after a
year

USDA zone
USDA plant zones are the
standard for which gardeners
can determine which plants
are most likely to thrive at a
specific location
