I hate using an example that includes violence, but when I was a high school
sophomore I got in a fight.
I very distinctly remember losing that fight, however, on the contrary several
people came up to me later, after the completion of my suspension, asking how I did
what I did. I had no idea what they were talking about until I spoke to my friends,
apparently, I had not done as bad as I suspected. According to one of my friends I had
"channeled Jason Bourne" for a few moments.
The way this discrepancy affected me was trivial, but I did learn that someone
with a slight concussion is very unreliable witness.

This question asks to give an example of this being true. I think people should
consider this wherever communication is occurring, in any form. I've seen so many
arguments, fights, and breakups because of misunderstood text messages IMs and
other text-based communication.

I am a lyricist and a poet. I love using metaphors. Whenever I write I like to use a
comparison between something physical and the concept I'm addressing or criticizing.
For example, the sentence:
My life is moving quickly
Carries much less of an impact than:
Like an hourglass or shifting sand
Life for erodes every goal in plan.
