In this project I am going to talk about my finding about some problem related to
economical power in Saudi Arabia. Every civilization form layers of people based
on their economical status and other factors. In your own experience please
answer the following questions.

When did this issue get started?

Why is it continuing to appear in every civilization?

From where did the generations received from?

Why does this issue involve race?

What are the right actions to eliminate the problem of economic and class?

How does economics disparity affect the relationship between people?

What major problems do economics and class contributes to?

What will be the affect of this problem to next generation?

What is the relationship between this issue and the reputation of a country?

What will be the change if this problem doesnt exist anymore?

Economical Power in Saudi Arabia
Being a foreigner gave me experience different than the Saudi Arabian student
who studied home. That is why I have different perspective than that student. I chose
economics and class because I have experienced it here in the United States and back in
my country. However, I have decided to narrow my research down to investigating this
problem back in Saudi Arabia. I used the experience of four people from my family
regarding this topic. Those people are my grandfather Ahmed, my dad Mohammed, my
brother Abdullah, and my sister Fatimah. In this research I am going to illustrate my
findings on each of these factors. The beginning of the issue, the reason behind its
appearance in almost every civilization and the mistakes of passing this problem to the
next generation, how does race factor to the problem, how it affect people treatment to
each other, and finally the changes in the society if this issue did not exist in it.
First, in the very early days in my country there were no cities. Furthermore, in
the past Saudi Arabia didnt exist because the Arab world was all a one nation. However,
The geographical place of Saudi Arabia was a humongous dessert. As a result, people in
the past have had specific places to start their village. That place is called an oasis. The
reason behind this is in order to live in the dessert water is extremely needed. People
lived near oases and shared the water there and that wasnt the beginning of economics
and class issue. However, the moment people went from sharing to trading. That was
the beginning of this problem. Mainly because a fair number of the people that used to

live in that dessert became the wealthiest in their village. Due to that wealth, the same
wealthy people gained another advantage. This benefit is power. In other words, when
some people have economical power and others does not. That causes the division of
people. Which in terms created the classes in people living in villages. According to my
father Mohammed, I think this issue started when people was trading goods between
each other. As some people became rich and others poor, the issue of class became a
distinctive feature of those who are doing economically well. Alabdullatif, Mohammed.

Second, civilizations come and go in every nation. People of each civilization are
different. Yet, classes based on economical status still appeared in almost every civilization
known to humanity. I didnt know the reason behind the appearance of this issue before. I
came to a conclusion that the main factor that contributes to the appearance of this of issue
in civilizations is copying. By that I mean that the next generation catch certain behaviors
from the previous generation. The rich peoples next generation will catch behaviors like
pride that gave them a sense of superiority. In contrast, the poor will pass on behaviors like
labor work and serving work. However, when Islam first came to the Arabian Gulf. It
changed how Arabs think. My brother Abdullahs response to this finding is each society
builds a sense of accomplishment and being different in its people but most of the time
people turns this to class as it give them a sense of superiority. In our civilization Islam has
dealt with this issue and thought its followers that no is better than others except by Taqwa
which means avoiding sins and practicing real Islamic principles Alabdullatif, Abdullah.

Third, racism is a problem that occurs in many civilizations even here in the US. I
believe that racism is a rooted problem derived from the issue of economical power. In

Alabdullatif 4
the early generation of humanity or when the problem of economical authority started.
People who were considered poor were growing in numbers. Eventually that number
started to cover a whole race. Resulting in giving the idea that that race has a low class
than others. For instance, before Islam came to my people, dark skinned people were
considered slaves. Just like the slavery battles that caused the civil war that happened
here in the US years ago. However, another opinion suggests that race was involved
because people from the same race stay together and try to benefit each other.
According to my grandfather Ahmed I think this issue involve race because top classes
were exploiting the needs of other races to which accounted the majority of the lower
classes. Also people of the same race usually benefit their own people over others
throughout the years which made race a key player when it comes to economical
power Alabdullatif, Ahmed. Personal interview. 29 Oct. 2014.
Forth thing I researched was how it affects how people treat each other back In Saudi
Arabia. The supposed way is the way of Islam. That way is; there is no difference between
poor or rich. The only thing that differs from a person to a person is faith. However, it is not
like that back is Saudi Arabia. Economical power was dominating how people treat each
other. Moreover, economic disparity can create tense relationships between people. Rich
people will be suspicious of other relationships. They think those relationships are not
genuine and the reason for it is to benefit from their economic status. This disparity of
economic classes will make people always question their relationship against economical
reasons and how it benefits them. This will result in economic centric relationships rather
than normal social relationships
Finally, if this problem doesnt exist anymore no financial needs can be exploited which will
eliminate corruption. This will save many social problems back in Saudi Arabia and will result

Alabdullatif 5
in fair and equal opportunities. In other words, respect between people will increase and
cooperation will become norm rather than exception. I hope that this problem will be
erased in the near future from every country because it will contribute to international
relationships and business will be conducted with respect and peace.
