Goal Orientation or
Assessment

Good morning everyone! It's good to see

you all again. Today, we're going to start
things offa little differently. Whatwe
need to do is get everyone into four
groups. If you look over at the activity
space, you'll see four poly spots. The one
on the far Ieft is #1, the next one over is
#2, then #3, and the one on the far right
is #4. I'm goingto numberyou off from
one to four. When I give you a number,I
want you to quickly run over to the
correspondingpoly spot. Also, form a
straight line behind one another once
you get to your assignedpoly spot. And
we need to do this fast so RUN!

This taskwill address

(Atthis time, students will be numbered

offand will disperse into groups. These
will be the same four groups that will
later be assignedto each of the four
activity stations.)
Whatwe're goingto do now is a relay
race! The first person in line for each
group is going to run up the field, around
the cone, and then backto their group.
Theywill high-five the next person in
line, who will then continue with the
relay: run up the field, around the cone,
then back to your group and give the
next person in line a high-five. The team
who goes through everyone in their line
the fastest, wins. If you have one less
group-member than the other groups,
then the person in front of your line will
go twice; s/he will be the first person,
and the last person to go. Now, here's
one more thine- while you're waiting in

2- Encouragemenl I will verbally

encourage the students to perform the
taskwith a high level of effort, and will
praise those who are exhibiting these
desirable behaviors.

This taskwill address
SHAPEstandards 1, 3 and
4,andCA standards b and
c.
The goal of this task is to
increase the heart rate of
students and prepare
them for the remainder of
the lesson.

3. Feedback I will reiterate the

importance of keeping the ball close to
the body when dribbling the soccer ball,
and will emphasize the importance of
keeping the eyes up so as to be aware of
ones surroundings.
Organization
Instant Activity Organization: Students will be a single-file line behind their groups,
and will be performing jumping facks unless it is there turn to run the relay
