Final Reflection
Dear Ms Douglas,
When I first started this class, I know that I need to do a lot of writing and research. I was
aware that I need to put an extra time and effort in order to succeed in this class. I was also afraid
that I was not able to give my very best due to time constraint since I took more than twelve
credit hours this semester. During the middle of the semester, I felt like I did not put enough
effort and considered myself as an average B student. But all of that changed throughout this
entire semester. I felt like I have grown so much in my writing, and learned different components
and contexts that need to be focus more when writing an essay. I am now much more confident
in writing and dare to say that I am an A student.
The improvements can be seen through my polished work that I have uploaded. I have
also uploaded all of the draft for rhetorical analysis, annotated bibliography, and round table
essay. I feel that the rhetorical analysis essay had impacted me the most. This essay had taught
me how to be a good analysis towards other people works, and how to rephrase it in my own
words based on my own understanding. I learned to apply all the rhetorical tools (i.e.: logos,
pathos, and ethos) and techniques likes inductive arguments and deductive arguments, in order to
have a well written rhetorical analysis essay. Other than that, I also found that annotated
bibliography essay has helped me so much in finding useful sources. Even though I need to
spend lots of time to read all the articles and every different source, I believe it purposely needs

to be done in that way to ensure that the sources that I used came from valid and reliable sources.
By writing the summary in annotated bibliography essay, it has helped me to improve my
research skills, and gain different perspectives on my thesis other than developed my points of
view.
My favorite part of all in the course is the experience of completing the multi-genre
project based on the chosen line of inquiry. Other than having my own opportunity to pick and
choose my own topic, I have also enjoyed sharpening my skills in expanding my creativity
creating the different genres. My line of inquiry that I chose was Would the raise of minimum
wage help lower income workers? The reason that I chose this topic was because I feel like this
topic relates to each and everyone that are currently working and striving to have a better
standard of living. At the end of my project, I believed that this topic has taught me to see a
different point of views from wide angle lens; employee, employers, and the lawmakers. With
that being said, all of the pieces that I have already put together for these assignments can be
viewed under multi-genre projects tab.
As a student who loves to write, I really enjoyed being one of the students in this class.
The time and effort that I have given and spent was not went to waste at all. Like I said before, I
strongly believed that my writing skills have grown so much and to be able to use an e-portfolio
as one of the medium to expand my creativity was just beyond amazing. I really hope that I can
use and apply all the skills and knowledge that I have gained in my near future to be a better
writer.
