Reflection: Interacting with Texts Reading Journal 3

Reading the text for this reading journal made me think about freewriting more than I
have before. It made me think about how your mind jumps around when you free write. In this
reading he was able to explain how our mind jumps around and sometimes makes sense and
sometimes does not. He put into words what I would like to explain about freewriting. Now
when I free write I think about what he said about our mind wandering into different thoughts
and continue to see myself do that in my writing. It helps me catch it earlier however, and allow
me to change my thoughts to make more sense on paper.

Reflection: Collaboration Rubric

For this collaboration as a group we had to write rules for how to grade a paper. We each
had ideas about what the rubric should include. We all explained our thoughts to each other and
combined them into three questions for the rubric. I thought it was good how we combined
about 12 different thoughts into 3 questions that allowed everyones ideas to be included.

Reflection: Demonstration of Revision Paper 2

For paper 2 I had to revise this paper because I made various mistakes on the first due
copy. When I decided to revise the paper I went back and highlighted the parts I wanted to keep
in the paper and deleted the parts that I thought were not well done. I did not change the paper
completely I just decided to go into the revision with a different idea on how to explain the
difference in the restaurants. At the end of my revision I went back and made sure that I put in all

my thoughts that I wanted to share and failed to do on the first draft. I knew I was done revising
when I went through the paper and did not feel that anything needed to be changed.

Reflection: Grappling with Audience and Genre Instructions on How to Construct an

Interview
The audience I had in mind was an audience of people that were for the first time going
to conduct and interview. This audience is also college and high school students. I made the steps
easy to understand and quick. This way they could read it quick and get good tips on how to start
interviewing. I put six steps that are easy to do and can really help when conducting an
interview.

Reflection: Inquiry Final Draft CIP

For my final CIP I asked questions such as, should student athletes get paid why or why
not, if so how much, and how would this affect college sports. I answered these questions many
different ways. One way was by interviewing student athletes and coaches and asking them
similar questions to the ones I had. I also looked up various interviews other people had and that
they made available online with other coaches and the NCAA themselves. I also looked up
papers people had written about the topic along with blogs and letters. In the end I presented my
interviews and submitted a letter to the NCAA with my thoughts on what should happen with
student athletes getting paid.
