Learning Activity #1
Time
5 minutes
Time
Call on students one by one to come up and draw a line from the
words on the right side of the screen to their matching shapes on the
left side of the screen.
15 minutes
Once this is done, go to the next screen, which has a variety of
organic and geometric shapes, and an organic shapes circle and a
geometric shapes circle. Discuss how the shapes that have names
(circle, square, oval, rectangle and triangle amongst others) are called
geometric shapes. All other shapes are organic shapes, because they
can be drawn however one likes and they dont have a name. Call on
students one by one to drag the shapes to either the geometric shape
circle or the organic shape circle. Have them say the name of the
shape they are dragging (if it is geometric) and have them turn to the
class after dragging the object to explain their choice of dragging the
shape to either organic or geometric.
