Born into a family of engineers, I formed my personal aspirations within the influence

of my parents cultivation. In this environment, I developed an intense interest in

engineering. My father, a mechanical engineer, was a mentor to me; I was fascinated
by his work with mathematical modelling and computer graphics. My father led me to
the world of engineering and taught me how to think independently and innovatively
through extensive discussions. My mother also devoted time and effort to my early
studies, allowing me to develop good habits and benefit from them throughout my
educational journey. Throughout my life, my parents have always encouraged me to
pursue a career of my own choice, and not to blindly follow in their footsteps.

Due to this encouragement, I maintained an open mind while exploring my interests.

I participated in different organizations within the school and community, such as the
basketball team and poetry club. In the first year, I was the captain of the basketball
team and won the Outstanding Award in a city-wide essay competition. In the next
year, I was elected as the class monitor; the responsibility of this role has helped to
shape my personality. For instance, I used to be shy and reserved, struggling to
present speeches in public. To establish authority, I practiced delivering speeches;
honing this skill allowed me to deliver a speech on good study habits confidently and
cogently. In addition to my extracurricular successes, I also demonstrated
outstanding academic performance.

Despite this, I did not feel challenged or inspired until I studied physics in senior high
school. With my fathers help, I delved into the minutiae of physics principles. My
father ignited my interest by illustrating complex theories by describing their practical
applications in diverse fields, such as the aerospace or auto industries. Inspired by
these practical applications, I decided to delve deeper through my undergraduate
studies at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. I declared my major in
Electrical Engineering to pursue research, projects, and further study in the subspecialty that interests me most.

Aware of the intense demand for well-rounded engineers, I pursued projects focused
on pragmatic social applications. For instance, I garnered support and funding for
campus programs in electrical engineering through meetings with CEOs of electrical
companies. Furthermore, I did research in audio systems and electrical vehicles to
enhance my knowledge, skills, and abilities in real-world contexts. Studying abroad
will afford me many opportunities in the social sphere that are otherwise unavailable
in China, and I look forward to discovering these applications and exploring my
