Task 4 Reflection
The objective of this assignment was to introduce the audience to the discourse
community and their writing or rhetoric. The other goal was to give a detailed analysis of that
writing and relate it to the argument I was presenting. The first problem I encountered when
writing this was how to explain my argument throughout the paper. I began by trying to
introduce it in the introduction. My first draft failed to successfully do this as my argument was
not fully understood. I understood my objective but struggled to completely address the issue.
There were many other problems with my first draft other than not correctly introducing
my argument. I had confusing sub-headings that mislead the reader as they created an idea that
was not explained within the following text. The overall length of the essay was short and the
cause of this was its lack of details. Another reason was not going in depth enough to explain
things like live streams and the processes that many of the members of the community used.
With this lack of information, it resulted in paragraphs being short in length and not full enough
to be complete.
In the final draft of this paper, all of these problems (and more) were fixed. The
argument was not only introduced in the introduction, but also brought back up plenty of times
(in detail) throughout the remainder of the paper. The sub-headings were changed in order to
better explain the details held within the paragraphs. Those details were better explained, and
plenty of new information was added in order to better understand the full concept. Live streams

and the members processes are now presented in a way that makes them understandable and not
as confusing. Through these new additions and explanations, the paragraphs became complete
and the essay itself reached the required page length.
