MHF4U: CULMINATING PROJECT Function Art

Objective: To create a meaningful and attractive picture using graphs of functions learned in this course.
Requirements:
o The picture must be composed of graphs of a minimum of TEN different functions, including ALL FIVE
types polynomial, rational, trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic.
o Graph using DESMOS, Winplot (for Windows) or Grapher (for Mac) or any website. Place the picture at the
centre of the screen with equal margins.
o Save the graph and share with your teacher. I think you can do this directly inside DESMOS. This will be
figured out as we go.
o Submit to Mr. Goos at: sgoos@brontecollege.ca
Timeline:
o Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014: Draft Picture Day. This is a key step to receive feedback for improvement
and avoid unnecessary misunderstanding. If you miss this date, you may not be able to receive feedback
before the Christmas break.
o Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015: Project is due! Submit your final work on or before Jan. 7, 2015.
.
Technical Hints:
If you click and hold, you can change the colour of the pen line.
DESMOS can also shade areas if you use inequality signs (< , >)
You can add dotted lines, points and other functions upon functions.
