    To launch Hiren's BootCD from a USB flash drive, the user must first configure their BIOS to boot from the USB drive. They then format the flash drive, install Grub4Dos to add bootloader functionality, and copy the files from the Hiren's BootCD onto the flash drive, including the Grldr and Menu.lst files to the root directory. When complete, the flash drive will be bootable and contain all the tools and utilities of Hiren's BootCD to use for recovery and repair purposes from a USB drive.

    Step1:FormatingUSBFlashDrive
    Pleasenotethat,alldataonyourusbflashdrivewillbelost.Beforedoingthisstep,don'tforgettobackupyourfilesontheusbflashdrive.

    1.Connecta512MBoraboveflashdrive.
    2.DownloadandrunUSBDiskStorageFormat(34KB).Followthestepsinthescreenshotsbelow:

    Step2:InstallingGrub4DostoUSBFlashDrive
    Downloadgrub4dos.zip(187KB)todesktop.Followthestepsbelow:

    1.Rightclicktothezipfileandclick
    'ExtractAll...'

    2.ClickNext

    3.ClickNexttoextractarchivecontents 4.ClickFinish

    Nowopen'grub4dos'foldercreatedonyourdesktop.Run'grubinst_gui.exe'insideofgrub4dosfolderandfollowthestepsbelow:

    1.Rungrub4dos

    2.Click'Run'onifyoufacewitha
    SecurityWarningwindow

    3.Ifyouarenotsurewhichdiskisyour
    USBFlashDrive,selectthedrivewith
    thesamesizewithyourUSBflash
    drive.

    4.Installationofgrub4doscompleted.PressEntertoclosethewindow.

    Step3:CopyFilestoUSBFlashDrive
    1.PutHiren'sBootCD(9.7ornewer)intotheCDDrive.
    2.CopyeverythingfromCDtoUSBFlashDrive.
    3.Copygrldrandmenu.lst(fromHBCDfolderoftheCD)totheusbdrive'srootfolder.FinallycontentsofyourUSBFlashDriveshouldlook
