Early childhood interventions for children with ASD
03/2012-12/2012 Wuhan School for deaf
Intern Teacher
Since this spring, I have been teaching high school courses in
Wuhan School for deaf as an intern teacher. I taught Chinese,
Mathematics and English to deaf students (Grade 10-11)
there. Some of my deaf students want to attend the National
College Entrance Examination and further their education in
college, so I taught them individually during my summer and
winter vacations.
11/2010-10/2011 Wuhan Jiangan Special Education School
Intern Teacher
During the internship there, I participated in the schoolbased curriculum development designed for deaf students.
09/2008-06/2009 Wuhan Children Welfare Institute
Volunteer Early Childhood Teacher
I was then an early childhood teacher in Wuhan Children
Welfare Institute. I taught deaf children (aged 5-6)
pronunciation and simple words just like what my mother did.
Some of the children were stone-deaf just like me, and most
of the others didnt wear a Hearing Aid since their family

couldnt afford to buy one. Letters, spelling, words, is really

a tough way for teaching without any auditory feedback from
deaf children. So I had to teach them over and over again, as
my mother did at that time. I used my own experience into
my teaching, and that really make a difference.
