2. My COMPANY :
My company, S.G.P manufactures Micro Drillers using advanced manufacturing
technology. The company mainly focuses on production of high precision drillers.

With the wide range of services offered by the above four companies, S.G.P is into the
research and development of the Micro drillers, which is better as compared to other
micro drillers due to its efficiency and precission. The benefits of S.G.P micro drillers are
a) Is environmental friendly, as it runs on electricity.
b) Reduce the overheating and wearing of drills due to coolant.
c) Reduced cracks on surfaces due to the use of ccd camera
d) Cost effective due to efficient energy utilisation

4.COLLABORATING COMPANIES:
i) Canon

Canon, is a Japanese multinational corporation specialized in the manufacture of

imaging and products,including cameras, camcorders, photocopiers, steppers, computer
printers and medical equipment.
Canon will service my company by providing the high definition ptz camera. Our
company has equipped the micro driller with the canon product BU-47H. The BU-47H
houses a three CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV III Image Processor combination,
outputting 1080i Full HD resolution with a full array of video adjustment options,
including color level, gain, gamma, white balance, skin detail, and sharpness. Canon
CMOS sensors offer several advantages over traditional CCD: reduced power
consumption, exceptional low-light performance, and resistance to glare. The use of
multiple CMOS sensors dedicated to separate RGB channels improves noise and color
accuracy.
ii) Tamron

Tamron is a Japanese company manufacturing photographic lenses, optical components

and commercial/industrial-use optics. Tamron Headquarters is located in Saitama
City in the Saitama Prefecture of Japan.
Our company has equipped the canon camera with a tamron lens. The lens which is
used in driller is a high resolution lens having the model number 13vg2812asIIsq.
Tamron lens are cost effective solution in world of photography as compared to its
competitors.
iii) Gray mills

Gray mills is manufacturer of :

Machine tool coolant pumps and pumping systems, industrial pumps and
pumping systems for manufacturing applications, filtering systems and coil stock
lubricators.
Parts washers / degreasers for industrial, automotive, maintenance
manufacturing and service applications.
Flexo / Gravure ink pumping / filtering / conditioning systems for converters and
press builders.

Our company has equipped the micro driller with a Gray mills HSP series coolant
pump. The model HSP115-F14 provides high performance capability with the
reliability of stainless steel construction at an affordable price. The stainless steel
construction facilitates its working even in chemical environments where other
motors usually gets corroded.

iv) Emuge

Emuge manufactures an expansive line of taps, end mills, thread mills, drills, thrillers,
holders and attachments, and thousands of other customized machining tools.

Our company, S.G.P uses the Emuge Solid Carbide Thread Mills which are now
available with internal coolant supply.SHUR-THREAD offers high confidence
machining, up to 2xD length of cut and other technologically advanced features.
Offering an exceptional balance of performance benefits and price, the tooling line
provides superb value for any size machine shop or production volume.
5. DESIGN OBJECTIVE
To design a micro driller, which can perform the drilling work with ultimate precision
with the help of canon camera which is equipped with a tamron lens.The driller is
equipped with tamron lens so as to make the product low in cost as tamron lenses are
quite cheaper than its other competitors. The camera helps in quantizing hole quality,
cracks due to brittle fracture, and drill wear. The driller uses a carbide thread mill from
emuge company which produces the least amount of cracks compared to other mills
which is obtained at the spindle of 35,000 rpm and feedrate of 3 mm/min. The crack
has the maximum diameter of 379 and minimum diameter of 321.A coolant pump from
gray mills is also attatched to the driller to to reduce heat and friction and allow for
better chip evacuation.

6. COLLABORATING PLANS:
The company, S.G.P is manufacturing Micro driller using the advanced
manufacturing technology. The company's objective is synchronized towards utilization
of resources for research and education and hence improving the design of our product.
The company is adopting the Organizational management behavior techniques to avoid
the communication barriers between employees working in different levels of
organization as well as with all the collaborating companies. Effective communication is
maintained at all the levels within the company and with all the four collaborative
companies to ensure no misleading information.
For manufacturing the Micro, S.G.P has collaborated with Cannon, Emuge, Gray Mills,
Tamron which help my company with their advanced technology to maintain the

competition in the market , fulfill the customer requirements and also maintain the ISO
9000 standards.

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is implemented for motivating business to focus on

its customers. It is used by cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues involved
in providing products, processes, services and strategies which will more than satisfy
their customers. Continuous improvement techniques are implemented to improve the
product and business. The people are motivated towards the Organizations objectives of
customer focus and customer service.

7. PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT

Product lifecycle management (PLM) is the process of managing the entire lifecycle of a
product from its conception, through design and manufacture, to service and disposal.
PLM integrates people, data, processes and business systems and provides a product
information backbone for companies and their extended enterprise.
Phases involved in PLM are Conceive, Design, Realize and Service. These phases are
clearly shown in the below cycle

In our company, we follow the PLM method, which is te most efficient method to
manufacture the micro driller starting from the Planning phase to the delivery of the
product.

S.G.P has planned for $10 Million USD budget for development, production and
sales facilities for the 1 year.
