Chris Greisen Talk

What does Confirmation mean

to me, and why am I choosing to
get Confirmed?
If I could ask a group of early
Christians one question, what
would it be? What would there
answer be?
What gifts has God given to me
that I can contribute to the rest
of the Body of Christ? How do I
need the rest of the Church to
help me grow?
Why is reading scripture
important in my life? What is my
favorite passage from the Bible
and why? What is the purpose of
the Bible?
Where did the Mass come from?
What is the point of the Mass?
How can I make Mass a more
meaningful and prayerful time?
Explain the history of the Creed,
and why we say it.
How can saying the Creed be
beneficial to my prayer life?
When I have questions about the
Catholic faith, where do I go to
find answers, or do I not try to
find the answers?
What did I learn tonight? What
questions do I still have?
Why does God give us free will?
How do the choices I make affect
myself and those around me?
Take a devotion talked about
tonight and use it to pray with at
least once this week. Then write
about your experience.
Where and how does Jesus
establish the Sacrament of
Reconciliation?
Do I want to go to Heaven? Am I
living a life that leads to Heaven?
Explain?
Who is the Holy Spirit? What
does my relationship with the
Holy Spirit look like? How can it
be stronger?
How is God working in your life
this week?

What can I do to grow closer to

Jesus Christ?
How does my religion affect my
spirituality?
Take a devotion talked about
tonight and use it to pray with at
least once this week. Then write
about your experience.
What is something that you
thought would make you feel
happy, but instead left you
feeling unhappy, empty, used,
deceived, etc?
Why is the Sacrament of
Reconciliation important? How
does it help us?
Describe a relationship that is
Free, Total, Faithful and Fruitful.
How is this different than other
relationships?
What is God calling me on to
right now?
Describe a time you have felt
inspired by the Holy Spirit?

For each class and topic, there is a question for you to journal or write about. Write an answer and reflection for
each question to be handed in by the next time we meet as a class. Each response should be a minimum of two
paragraphs but no more than a page. You may bring the journal entry to class hand written or typed, or you
may email it to me at youthminister@seasgb.org. If you are struggling to write about the question you may
write and reflect on that class, or answer one of the questions below. You may only answer each question once.
Mary had a choice when she said yes to God, after the Angel Gabriel appeared to her, do you think her choice
brought her joy? Why, or why not?
Is it possible to experience joy in the midst of suffering?
What gifts of the Holy Spirit do you think are beneficial to you now?
What is the difference between happiness and joy?
For each of the 10 commandments, there is an obvious way of violating them, what are some of the more subtle
ways of violating them?
If Jesus were to ask you, Who do you say that I am? (Mark 8:29), what would your answer be?
What is sin? How does it affect you?
Why are we called to forgive others? What does forgiving others do for us?
What are you most grateful for today? Explain.
IF you could be one person in the bible who would you be and why?
Write a reflection on the patron Saint for this weeks class.
