Missing Pieces:

Fire:
The fire was gone, and then back again, like a winking eye. Page 145
At first, fire seems like a soothing to his soul because its been his job to start
it, and towards halfway through the book, hes afraid of it and doesnt want
to be near it. Then towards the end, he feels better when the last fire he
encounters beckons him to come forth and meet the people that were
waiting there for him.
Burning:
It was not burning. It was warming. Page 145
Throughout the book, he realizes the true purpose of fire and doesnt like
firemen use it against people. At this point, he finally steps back and accepts
the fire, and looks at it at a different perspective, hinting thats his goal for
others to come.
Firemen:
they needed firemen to stop the flames. Page 8
In the book, the word firemen has a total different meaning than expected.
The firemen in the book have a different purpose and in contrast, are
motivated to start fires and burn instead of stopping them and saving
everything.
451:
With his symbolic helmet numbered 451 on his stolid head
451 is the temperature at what paper burns at, so the book would have less
meaning if they didnt include the temperature as a symbol. Its a big symbol
in the book since the firemen are supposed to burn books, and it happens to
be a major conflict.
My uncle:
My uncle says the two always go together.

Clarisses uncle played a major part in the book since she always mentioned
him. He always seemed to tell her stories about books and how life was
before the government taking over. He even influenced Montags decisions.
